Adventures by Disney Spotlight: Discovery Down Under

Have you ever wanted to travel “down under?” Well, with one of Adventures by Disney’s newest itineraries, now you can! I visited Australia last year and it is a not to be missed trip. From Sydney to the Outback to the Great Barrier Reef there are so many wonderful things to do and see on the world’s smallest continent, and you will get to enjoy them all on this 10 day/ 9 night Adventure by Disney.

Your trip starts in Queensland where you hike through Mossman Gorge, an ancient rainforest. You then visit Tjapukai Aboriginal Cultural Park where you listen to a didgeridoo and learn how to throw a boomerang and a spear. One of the highlights of my trip is next -- taking a catamaran and sailing to the Low Isles in the amazing Great Barrier Reef, considered to be one of the world's natural wonders. Snorkeling in the largest coral reef system on earth, where schools of color explode from every hollow, was amazing!

Next you fly to the center of Australia, the "Outback," to explore the red desert around the mysterious formation known as Ayer's Rock, or by its Aboriginal name, Uluru. That evening you take a camel ride to Uluru and marvel at the vibrant colors of the sunset while listening to your local expert spin ancient tales about this timeless landscape. The next day you can hike around Uluru and in the afternoon visit the other major geological feature in the area, Kata Tjuta, also known as the Olgas. Kata Tjuta means "many heads," an apt description of the 36 red domes that make up this stunning geological formation.

Finally, you fly back to Sydney where you will have a private breakfast with a zoo keeper at the celebrated Taronga Zoo. You will also visit the famed Sydney Opera House and enjoy a thrilling jet boat ride around the sights of Sydney Harbor.
